About

Roses Educational Center is a school located at the slums of Mukuru Reuben in Nairobi, Kenya. The school started in the year 2020, January. Since then the school has grown from 2 kids to 150 children. The school is growing and so are the students whom we provide the best education and values. We thank the Lord for the determined and experienced teachers who are fully trained by the CBC education system to ensure they're the best.

Roses among thorns educational center is a school located in the slums of Mukuru kwa Reuben, one of the biggest slums in kenya. The school begun in the year 2020 January. The high levels of poverty in the slums puts basic education beyond the reach of many families. Generally this has led to drop out rate amounting to 44%, impacting the education negatively. Roses among thorns mainly aims at changing the lives of these children.

In October of 2022, I travelled to Nairobi, Kenya with project Bible runners and visited Roses Among Thorns School on occasion. Despite the school's location in the slums and the very few resources for the school, the founders Emmanuel and Sharine try their best to make up for the school with a heart for educating children. I found it amazing how much the children had learned at such young ages. Despite the circumstances encircled by the hopelessness in the slums, the children at Roses have hope and a fighting chance of pulling themselves out of the slums provided they continue getting an education. Sponsoring and supporting these children is indeed their ticket to a better life.
